The Case for Supplement and Mineral Manufacturing

In a world of constant scientific advancement and depleting natural resources, it is said that many believe the future lies in genetically modified foods and crops. As is natural with anything that is involved with giving life or creating something that started out as naturally grown, there are those that vehemently oppose this idea as there hasn’t been enough time to properly test the long-term effects of intaking these foods. I myself believe that genetically modified materials are around for a reason and that ingenuity is the future of this world, especially if the population continues to rise as its current rate. The following information will be highlighting the advantages of using genetically modified foods and substances on a larger scale.

  • Resistance to Deadly Forces – Forgive the forbording title, but I speak more of the crops ability to resist otherwise deadly natural or manmade exposure. Currently GM crops can be made resistant to pests, so there is no need for pesticides to be sprayed on them. This also greatly helps the environment as pesticides tend to have a negative effect on the surrounding ecosystems.
  • Nutrition for Those in Need – It’s common knowledge that the average child does not receive near enough nutrition and is in high risk of improper physical development. With genetically engineered food containing mineral chelates and other bioavailability increasing compounds, nutrition can be provided to those in need.
  • Cost-effective Food – The last few years the United States has seen record numbers of children going hungry, with more than a million young, growing children being put to bed at night without having had dinner. This is an issue that will only continue to grow if steps aren’t made to provide more cost-effective healthy and nutritious food in the hands of those who cannot regularly afford it. With more and more companies diving into the realm of supplement manufacturing the nutrition that children so desperately need can be bought and consumed on a daily basis. If more efforts were to be focused on supplement manufacturing the price of supplements would surely decrease making it even more available.

Yes, it is true that there can be certain hesitations or fears when dealing with any substance that is genetically modified, but I firmly believe the science was created for a reason and with good purpose. Now if we were to dive into the realm of stem cell research it would be a completely different matter, but when it comes to feeding the hungry, I will always vote the way of more food.

Used Farm Equipment For a Green World

Going green and farming was almost synonymous for centuries. It has only been in recent years when the farming industry has it become ruled by large corporations that green left the farm.

In America it was with the green backs that purchases were made. It was the little green sprouts that grew and became the source for more green backs. Even the fertilizer for centuries was green. All the waste from the farm animals was spread on the fields and then plowed under to rejuvenate the soil and make it green.

The boundaries of the small farm were surrounded with trees and bushes to not only be used as a windbreaker but to help keep the insect population at bay. The horse drawn plows were a green source of farm equipment.

At present day the large farm is no longer green except in terms of payment. With chemical fertilizers and pesticides in large use. The run off is damaging the water supply and animal population; the green has left the farm. Read the rest of this entry »
